Oklahoma City’s Asian District is located just off Classen Boulevard between Northwest 23rd Street and Northwest 30th Street. Bordered by the historic Gold Dome to the south, Oklahoma City University to the west, and Paseo Arts District to the east, Asian District is right in the middle of the city’s beating heart.
Location
Asian District
Oklahoma City, OK

MISSION
The Asian District Cultural Association is a 501c3 (Non-profit) organization that promotes and preserves the diverse culture of the Oklahoma City Asian District. We bridge and build community across generations by engaging and empowering the next generation of Asian-American Oklahomans. We accomplish our mission through events, beautification, and education & outreach.
VALUES
Cultural Preservation
Preserving the unique history, language, food, art and traditions of the Asian refugees who settled in Oklahoma City.
Diversity
We celebrate and promote the diversity of Asian cultures in Oklahoma City.
Community
We’re dedicated to creating community between generations as well as within our district and the metro area.
Beauty
A district should be not only walkable but also visually pleasing through streetscaping, artwork and garden/park areas.
Tradition
We respect, honor and celebrate the traditions of our culture. We will never forget the struggles and shared refugee experience of the original residents of the Asian District.
Our History.
In 1975 after the fall of Saigon, there was a flood of immigration across the country. There was a military camp in Fort Chaffee, Arkansas with many Vietnamese refugees. Oklahoma City's close proximity made it an ideal location for the refugees to find a permanent home.⠀
⠀
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cathedral became a staple point for the new arrivals, and the surrounding neighborhoods formed what is now the Asian District. We are filled with incredible stories, successful businesses, restaurants, and culture.
